Daft releases Android app

2 Feb 2011

Irish property website Daft has released an Android app, featuring Google Street View and Google Navigation integration.

The Android app was released due to the growth of traffic from smartphones and the popularity of Daft’s iPhone and iPad app launches.

It works similarly to Daft’s iPhone app, letting users browse through its database of properties.

Users can view photos of properties, can contact advertisers directly through the app and view nearby properties.

Searches can be saved so users can browse through them at a later date.

The Android app has some new features, including Google Street View integration. Users can click ‘Show Street View’ on each property, letting them view its neighbourhood and surrounding area.

It also has integration with Google’s turn-by-turn navigation, letting the user be directed from his or her current location to the door of the property he or she are going to view.

The app is available from Daft’s blog or from the Android Market.
