DocuSign valued at US$3bn after raising US$233m Series F funding

Digital signature company DocuSign has raised US$233m in Series F funding that values the company at US$3bn.

The investment was led by hedge fund Brookside Capital and was joined by Generation Investment Management, ClearBridge Investments, Iconiq Capital, Wasatch Advisors, Wellington Management and Sand Capital Ventures.

The investment brings to US$440m the amount raised so far by DocuSign.

Other investors in the company include Google Ventures, SAP, VISA, Salesforce.com, Samsung Venture Investment Corp, Telstra and Comcast.

The investment firmly ensconces DocuSign among the ranks of unicorns – companies valued at more than US$1bn – that include more than 100 companies, such as Uber, Slack, Strip and drone company DJI.

DocuSign’s software is used by more than 100,000 companies worldwide and more than 50m individual users.
