We take a look at some of the most-viewed and most-shared videos on the web. This week features a noisy experiment, a radical new gadget and a creepy prank.

About 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, 500 years of video watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

We have been overloaded with new product announcements this week thanks to the IFA electronics expo taking place in Berlin. With all this gadget news flying around, you may have missed this unique innovation from Swedish furniture brand Ikea. A fully interactive, always-on catalogue of Ikea’s stock; the Bookbook is a truly remarkable invention.

Alzheimer’s patient remembers her daughter

For anyone who has experienced the effects of Alzheimer’s on a family member, this video is sure to strike a chord. Kelly Gunderson’s 87-year-old mother, who at first doesn’t seem quite sure who her daughter is, has a brief moment of clarity that the two of them share with a good old chuckle.

Lachlan’s first hearing aids

In another touching video, seven-week-old baby boy Lachlan, who was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears, is fitted with his first hearing aids. His reaction to hearing his parents’ voices is guaranteed to make you smile.

Toilet roll changing – teenage instructional video

Of course, when Lachlan grows up he may be inflicted with the inability to listen to his parents, which strikes many in their teenage years. For dad of two Will Reid, he has taken to social media to get through to his son and daughter and maybe teach them a thing or two, starting with how to replace the toilet roll when it runs out. Watch closely, kids – this is a tricky one.
