Irish firm shortlisted for Oscars of mobile industry

Irish software firm XIAM has been shortlisted for a major award at the GSM Association Awards, which take place in Cannes this week as part of the World GSM Congress.

The Dublin company is the only software company amongst five finalists shortlisted for the Best Wireless Application Developer award, and is one of four finalists for Best Use of Wireless for Accessibility award.

Described as the ‘Oscars of the mobile industry’ by the Wall Street Journal, the winners will be announced at a ceremony tomorrow.

The GSM Association is the world’s leading wireless industry representative body and its members provide digital wireless services to 777.5 million customers in 191 countries.
