CarbonNeutral Company reduces IT firm’s emissions

IT systems development and support specialists IT Force has announced it has become certified as a CarbonNeutral company.

The company predicts this will lead to it neutralising more than 66 tonnes of CO2 in the first year and reducing its carbon footprint dramatically.

The CarbonNeutral Company, a world leading provider of carbon reduction solutions, advised how IT Force could reduce emissions across the board by examining the company’s carbon emissions and producing a reduction plan for it to follow.

IT Force now hopes to further reduce its emissions by 20pc by 2011.

IT Force, including managing director John Bergin, said: “The relationship with The CarbonNeutral Company will be on going, to ensure we keep up to date with international environmental standards and best practice. For us, it is not just about ‘being green’ – it’s also about being ‘lean and mean’ as a company. By being more waste conscious and hyper efficient, we have lower overheads as a company, essential in today’s economic climate”.
