New GTA IV episode gets fabulous

27 May 2009

Ahead of the juggernaut that is the E3 Expo, which begins on 2 June and will bring plenty of new gaming and digital entertainment announcements, Grand Theft Auto publisher Rockstar has announced a brand-new add-on for GTA IV that will bring us into the world of gay nightclub manager Tony Prince, or Gay Tony as he’s known.

This add-on – The Ballad of Gay Tony – is coming out this autumn and will be exclusive to Xbox 360 owners, with no announcement as of yet for a PlayStation3 release.

Interestingly it will be available as a physical disk release (packaged with TheLost and the Damned), as well as for download, and won’t need the original GTA game to be playable.

A polar opposite to the biker gang violence of The Lost and the Damned, The Ballad of Gay Tony will still be set in the same seedy Liberty City, but you play Luis Lopez, assistant to Gay Tony and part-time hoodlum.

Rockstar promises “an overdose of guns, glitz and grime”, as you deal with the fact that it’s hard to tell the good guys from the phonies and learn that everyone has their price. Sounds exciting!
