Ireland’s largest online classifieds site DoneDeal has launched a free iPhone App that allows users to browse through its many sections.
The free App is compatible with the iPhone and iPad, with plans to launch an Android App soon.
Fred Karlsson, who co-founded DoneDeal in 2005, said: “The app launch comes at a very exciting time for DoneDeal. We are now Ireland’s largest buying and selling site and recent figures show that in the past year alone the sale of over €2bn worth of goods have been facilitated by the site. The need for an iPhone app is an indicator of how well the site is doing.”
The company has experienced significant growth over the past year, with almost 150,000 adverts now active on the site at any one time and 75,000 new items advertised on the site each month. The company recently announced it had surpassed 2m unique visitors to the website in March.
The DoneDeal App takes the user straight through to the main search page. From there, the user can search all of the sections of DoneDeal. These sections include Animals, Farming, House & Home, Wedding, Sport, Holidays & Tickets, Electronics, Fashion & Health, Property, Music & Education, Business, Other and a Lost & Found section.
Within each section, DoneDeal has also introduced further sub-sections to ensure users can source exactly what they are looking for in a more timely fashion.
