Jobs portal reports 1.2 million applications

Recruitment portal Jobs.ie has processed over 1.2 million job applications in this year alone, the company said today.

It said that a total of three million CV applications have been processed since Jobs.ie began recording applications in April 2001, an average of 5,500 CVs a day.

“Reaching the three million mark for CV applications, with more than one million of these applications being processed this year to date, is a testament to the jobseeker-friendly model used by Jobs.ie,” said Odhran Ginnity, chief executive of Jobs.ie.

“The Jobs.ie model provides a smarter and easier solution for employers and jobseekers alike. We advertise over 3,300 jobs on the site daily, 80pc of which are corporate or direct to employer,” Ginnity said.

Ginnity says traffic to the site has been increasing daily and the company used the non-traditional route of internet-only marketing to increase traffic.

“Jobs.ie saw the most significant growth in CV applications during 2005 and 2006. This year so far over 1.2 million applications have been processed; the highest was 7,500 CV submissions in one day and I expect growth to continue steadily,” said Ginnity.
