3 Mobile to launch Android and BlackBerry music store

16 Mar 2011

3 Mobile is launching an Android and BlackBerry music store tomorrow, the 3MusicStore, offering real-time updates and social networking sharing capabilities.

The store contains mostly chart music from major record labels and leading independent labels. Single tracks cost €1.49, videos cost €1.99 and ringtones cost €3.99.

The store supports one-click music purchases and users can re-download purchased items from the store to their phone for free.

The homepage is fully customisable to make sure the users’ favourite genres appear there. Users can choose which genres they’re into and populate the homepage with music related to that content.

Genres which can be toggled through include indie, pop, R&B, rock and chart music.

The store offers recommendations based on the user’s buyer history and has the 3MusicClub, which offers competitions and exclusives for customers.

Users can also share new finds with friends on Facebook and Twitter and the Android music store will have real-time updates.

“We are delighted to offer this user-friendly service to customers, providing a fantastic way to build a music collection that is truly mobile at an affordable price,” said David Kent, head of entertainment at 3 Mobile.

The service is available for both Android and Blackberry devices.
