Deliveroo goes ‘al desko’ for the business crowd

On-demand food delivery player Deliveroo has launched a new Deliveroo for Business platform across 100 cities.

Deliveroo, which recently diversified into breakfast and booze deliveries, was founded in London in 2013 by Will Shu and Greg Orlowski to change the food delivery model.

In August it raised a $275m Series E investment led by Bridgepoint, DST Global and General Catalyst.

The new service Deliveroo for Business has been launched in response to what the company saw as a trend of workers ordering food from the app to their desks.

Launched to help businesses simplify the process of offering food choices to employees, the service has already been adopted by global businesses including Eventbrite, Innocent Drinks, British Land and Survey Monkey.

“Deliveroo for Business gives employees a huge variety of food to fuel their hard work, from early risers enjoying a healthy breakfast, to brilliantly catered meetings, to late-night workers wanting to treat themselves – there is something for everyone,” said Christine Oddy, head of Deliveroo for Business, UK and Ireland.

“It also provides full visibility and an easy streamlined expense process to make life easier for office managers and finance directors who are able to fully customise their account.”

Logistically, the offering works in the same way as Deliveroo’s core business, giving customers access to great local restaurants with orders arriving within 30 minutes.

Upon signing up, companies are provided with a bespoke corporate offering to suit their internal practices.

Companies will be able to set spend limits, project codes and lock controls for location and time. They are given full visibility over order items and billing, and Deliveroo’s reporting layout provides for easy accounting.
