Boylesports Bookmakers is to invest €3m in a new integrated electronic betting platform. The platform will allow its customers to use one account across the bookmarkers’ retail, phone-a-bet and internet betting channels and paves the way for 24 hour betting.

The investment makes Boylesports the first bookmakers in Ireland to introduce a single platform integrated system. The system will be rolled out across the company’s 75 branches and non-retail divisions by Christmas.

Boylesports has some 75 locations countrywide and aims to have 100 shops live by 2005. The Dundalk-based betting house currently employs 400 people around the country.

The owner and managing director of Boylesports, John Boyle, commented: “Boylesports has always prided ourselves on offering customers the highest level of service through constant innovation. This substantial investment is just the latest example and offers a customer friendly service, which is fast, efficient, simple to use and provides more betting products and speedier payout.

“This system will complement the current Boylesports experience, which includes high spec audio visual and information systems, cinema style screens, bright and welcoming shop environment, sofa style seating, café area with free refreshments and even screens in many of our toilets. This is another first for Boylesports,” he said.
