Apple is searching for and has promised a fix for a bug that is causing the battery percentage level to be displayed incorrectly on its flagship iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphones.

Users have discovered that the percentage level on affected phones won’t update.

In a support document, Apple explained that the problem appears to occur on iPhone 6s device where users have changed time zones while travelling.

It has issued a number of steps that include restarting the iPhone or ensuring that ‘Set Automatically’ is turned on for Date & Time within Settings (Settings > General > Date & Time).

iPhone 6s: Problems since September

“If this happens again and you didn’t change the time or time zone on your device, contact Apple Support.

“Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution,” the company said.

It is understood that iPhone owners have been flagging the issue since September.

Apple is due to release a major iOS 9.3 update that could potentially resolve the problem.
