A look at gadget happenings in the week ahead as OS X Lion may launch this week and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 plans to cater for its colour blind audience.

New MacBook Air laptops, OS X Lion arriving 14 July?

Reports suggest Apple stores are planning an overnight shift on 13 July, which may signify the release of Apple’s new OS X Lion, along with new MacBook Air laptops the following day.

According to 9to5 Mac, the timing of the overnight shift coincides with the possible release of OS X Lion.

They also expect new MacBook Airs, complete with a Sandy Bridge CPU, HD FaceTime and Thunderbolt.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gets colour blind option

Michael Condrey, vice-president and COO of Sledgehammer Gamers, said they are working on developing an option to help colour blind gamers play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

When asked by a colour blind fan of the series if the game would have this option, Condrey confirmed it, saying 1m colour blind gamers play this game each day.

“Research suggests that as much as 6pc of the general population suffers from colour blindness, or more accurately colour vision deficiency,” said Condrey.

“Men (9-12pc) are 20 times more likely to be afflicted than women (0.25-1pc),” he said.
