Tuohy scoops digital media award

Brendan Touhy of the Department of Communications, Marine & Natural Resources was named Digital Media Person of the Year at the O2 Digital Media Awards last night at the O’Reilly Hall in UCD.

Other prizewinners included Brown Bag Films in the 2D Animation award category for its acclaimed documentary Give up yer Aul Sins; Cybercom, which took the Digital Media Agency of the Year award; Rtn2Sndr Ltd, in the Best Wireless Content award for its Archers AQUA campaign; Superquinn4Food, in the Consumer Innovation category; Propylon, for its Mission Control Pervasive Portal Server (Professional Innovation category); and Educational Multimedia Corporation (E-learning Company of the Year).

The Grand Prix award, for best-of-show entry, went to Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology.

The awards ceremony was attended by Ministers Mary Hanafin, Noel Dempsey and Dermot Ahern in addition to a host of Irish celebrities and leaders within the media and film sectors in Ireland.
