Twitter has launched a “Follow” button, letting websites install a button to allow people to directly follow their favourite celebrities, companies, reporters and athletes online on the social media site.

The button can be installed on any web page to allow users to follow companies or people related to the page.

For example, on IMDB, users can directly follow a celebrity on Twitter by clicking on the “Follow” button on their IMDB page. News sites, such as The Telegraph, are installing the buttons to allow users to follow their favourite reporters.

The user name of the Twitter account appears beside the button, letting people look at their profiles and latest tweets before following them.

Web designers and brands and can get their own follow button directly from Twitter.
