We take a look at some of the most-viewed and most-shared videos on the web. This week features tormented children, the death of Jar Jar Binks, an electric fireball, an operating room dance-off, and the legend that is Ron Burgundy.

About 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, 500 years of video watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

We all know it’s the Grinch that stole Christmas, but Jimmy Kimmel has made a habit of stealing Halloween from young trick-or-treaters. Once again, he asked parents to tell their children that they had eaten all their Halloween candy and the reactions range from the hilarious to the tragic.

Electric fireball in Lachine

During a wind storm in Lachine, a borough of Montreal, Canada, a fault in the power lines caused an electric fireball to travel through a residential area, and YouTuber Huw Griffiths caught this phenomenal moment on camera to share with the rest of the world.

From one awe-inspiring ball of energy to another, this clip features Deborah Cohan, an obstetrician and gynaecologist about to undergo a double mastectomy as part of her cancer treatment. But before she went under the knife, Cohan and the operating team at Mt Zion Hospital, San Francisco got down and funky to Beyoncé’s ‘Get Me Bodied’. “Nothing brings me greater joy than catalysing others to dance, move, be in their bodies. Are you with me people?” Cohan asked.
