Toshiba unveils quad-core Android 4.0 Excite tablets

Toshiba has unveiled three new quad-core Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets under its Excite range – the Excite 13, the Excite 10 and the Excite 7.7

All three tablets feature aluminium shells and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass displays. The tablets run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and are equipped with NVIDIA Tega 3 quad-core processors.

They have 5-megapixel rear-facing cameras and a 2-megapixel front-facing cameras for photography and video chatting. They include stereo speakers with enhancements from Toshiba and SRS Labs and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Toshiba Excite 13 offers a 13.3-inch display, the Excite 10 has a 10.1-inch display and the Excite 7.7 features a 7.7-inch display.

The Excite 13 is 0.4 inches thick and features a 13.3-inch diagonal 1,600 x 900 resolution display with 10-finger touch support. It includes a four-speaker sound system and a tablet stand to prop it up for watching videos. It also includes micro USB and Micro HDMI ports, as well as an SD card slot.

The Excite 10 features a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 800 resolution display with 10-finger touch support. It’s 0.35 inches thick and offers up to 10 hours of battery life. It also has a micro USB port, a micro HDMI port and an SD card slot.

The Excite 7.7 offers a 7.7-inch AMOLED display and is 0.3 inches thick. It includes a micro USB port and micro SD slot.

The Toshiba Excite 10 will be available in the US from 6 May. The Toshiba Excite 7.7 and the Toshiba Excite 13 will be available in the US from 10 June.
