E-commerce and cloud giant Amazon, which now employs 1,400 people in Dublin and 800 in Cork, has agreed to rent the Vertium Building on Burlington Road in Dublin 4.
This is understood to be the biggest letting in Dublin for several years.
The high-density office building is currently under construction beside the former Burlington Hotel, now the DoubleTree by Hilton.
The building is only down the canal from Silicon Docks, where Google has its 5,000-strong constellation of offices on Barrow Street and where the Collison Brothers’ Stripe is setting up offices in Dublin.
As well as employing 1,400 people in Dublin and 800 in Cork, Amazon has a number of data centres dotted around Dublin.

According to The Irish Times, Amazon has agreed to a blended rent in the region of €50 per square foot for a six-storey over double basement block that is 172,000 sq ft.
It will also have the use of 95 car parking spaces at lower basement level.
Amazon currently occupies more than 105,000 sq ft at the nearby Burlington Plaza building alongside Sky and Adroll.
The office project being developed by Johnny Ronan, U+I, Paddy McKillen and Colony Capital will be sold on completion to Union Investment Real Estate, Germany’s largest investment management company, and the same fund that bought the office buildings occupied by Facebook at Grand Canal Square for €232m.
The building that Amazon will be moving into was designed by Paul O’Brien of Henry J Lyons and will have 21 passenger lifts.
