Visa and UCD CCI team up to tackle cybercrime
Visa Europe has formed a partnership with University College Dublin Centre for Cybercrime Investigation (UCD CCI) to undertake forensic investigation into high-tech financial crimes and cybercrime.
The partnership will see UCD CCI assist Visa Europe with criminal investigations, research in order to develop new security features and support for developing training courses for judges and prosecutors.
Damovo announces 10GB solutions deal with DIT
Damovo Ireland has announced it has won a three-year deal to provide Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) with managed and monitored infrastructure solutions.
The ICT solutions service provider said that the £100,000 deal will span 38 locations across Dublin and provide e-learning opportunities for 2,000 staff and around 20,000 students.
Damovo said it will provide round-the-clock supervision and rapid fixes from its Dublin NOC to ensure maximum uptime for staff, lecturers and students in all 38 college and office locations, and also for distance learning students accessing the network remotely.
Navteq pushes to 3D with PixelActive purchase
Navteq has made a big step towards accelerating its 2D mapping into 3D by acquiring PixelActive, developers of 3D urban modelling tools.
Navteq, which offers maps, traffic and location data enabling navigation and location-based services, wishes to leverage 3D technologies through this purchase.
PixelActive is based in California and has 16 employees. The company develops tools and technologies for 3D modelling of road networks, buildings and terrain.
