HP launches new suite of cloud solutions

25 Jan 2011

HP has launched a suite of new cloud products for businesses and governments, with improved security, performance and availability.

These products come in the form of HP Hybrid Delivery solutions, and HP says they provide the benefits of enterprise-grade cloud computing while meeting the needs of businesses and governments.

HP Enterprise Cloud Service-Compute delivers “private cloud as a service” from HP’s data centres. It’s governed by specific policies for service, performance and security and gives clients rapidly deployed, secure cloud computing with scalable IT capacity.

HP CloudSystem offers an integrated system to build, manage and consume services across private, public and hybrid cloud environments.

It combines HP’s Converged Infrastructure with HP Cloud Service Automation software for security and compliance across applications, as well as physical and virtual infrastructure. It also supports HP Cloud Maps, which offers preconfigured catalogue objects to automatically provision optimised application and infrastructure resources.

With HP Financial Services, clients can combine cloud products with HP’s financial services product to help them manage their costs in parallel with building the cloud.

HP is also offering the Cloud Discovery Workshop, to let businesses and governments develop strategies for leveraging the cloud.

The one- to two-day workshops include numerous modules which cover topics such as security, business model implications, and finding the right services for the cloud. HP professionals with experience in global cloud deployments lead the workshops.
