O2 to raise funds for Headstrong through sales of Sony, HTC and Nokia smartphones

10 Oct 2012

Throughout October, €1 from all sales of Sony, HTC and Nokia Lumia handsets from O2 will be donated to Headstrong as part of a fundraising initiative.

The operator and manufacturers have all agreed to participate in the initiative which will apply to sales in O2 stores and through O2’s website in October.

O2 is already involved with Headstrong, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, through the Think Big programme that was launched in September 2010. This social action initiative has funded 200 projects across Ireland. These projects have been devised and completed by young people to benefit their communities and make a difference to young people’s mental health.

About 150 O2 employees are also involved in the projects as mentors. O2 also provides project teams with up to €300 in funds, a day of training and a start-up pack that includes a phone and €50 free credit.
