Pinterest to test new-look site with users

29 Jan 2013

Online bulletin boards site Pinterest will be rolling out a new look to Pinterest.com to a small group of users soon, having taken users’ feedback into account in crafting the update.

With the update, Pinterest is aiming to make it easier and faster for users to navigate the site.

“We made the navigation more intuitive, so it’s faster to get to where you want to go,” software engineer Vy Phan wrote on the Pinterest blog.

“Pins are bigger and we’ve added more information related to pins, so it’s easier to find things you’re interested in. For example, on each pin, you’ll see pins from the same board, other boards this pin was pinned to, and a whole slew of related pins.”

Phan added that once Pinterest works out any kinks in the update, it will extend the new look to more users.

If you’re a Pinterest user who just can’t wait to see the refreshed site, though, all you have to do is sign up for early access after initial tests have been completed on the update.
