UK-headquartered Thomas International, a global provider of psychometric assessment and team profiling software and services, has taken a significant equity stake in CareerGuidance.ie.
Founded by Diarmuid Haughian, CareerGuidance.ie enables users to directly make appointments with a national network of qualified career guidance counsellors as well as providing the most extensive careers information and support on-site.
Users can create their own career profiles, avail of email career guidance, online psychometric tests, CV surgery, cover letter composition, search more than 12,000 courses and access career guidance programmes, to mention just a few of the services CareerGuidance.ie provide.
In addition, videos, podcasts and webinars available on the website offer guidance and allow young adults, parents and professionals to make informed educational and career decisions.
Haughian has researched and analysed the response of thousands of users over the last two years, enabling him to continuously make improvements to CareerGuidance.ie.
“I have always been determined to create the best career-guidance website on the internet,” Haughian says.
“I am not aware of a better career-guidance site and I will be forever updating CareerGuidance.ie to ensure that is it always No 1 in every aspect. I am sure that this ethic is fundamental to the decision by Thomas International to invest in me and the business.”
Haughian is a qualified career guidance practitioner to master level, which he believes is an important attribute for the business as he can deliver a greater understanding of the needs of the target markets and the facilities required.
Thomas International is a provider of psychometric and aptitude testing, team profiling and people assessments for businesses in the UK and in 63 countries across the globe.
“CareerGuidance, and a strong internet presence, represent a significant area of strategic growth for our business,” Martin Reed, CEO of Thomas International, explained.
“CareerGuidance.ie is the finest website of its category. We intend to develop it globally in harmony with our core products. Bringing Diarmuid on board is a key part of this move; with his passion and expertise in the area of career guidance and the internet.”
