Second Climate Gathering will be in Dublin – open call for participation

24 May 2013

Dublin will be the setting for a second Climate Gathering this June to bring together representatives from the worlds of technology, business, politics and culture to share ideas about how to build the clean economy. The organisers are now issuing a call for other thought leaders to participate in this workshop.

The Climate Gathering is following on from a meeting of international climate experts that took place in the Burren, Co Clare, at the end of February.

The three-day Dublin event is being organised by the Greens/European Free Alliance in the European Parliament and the Climate Gathering, an initiative of Green Foundation Ireland.

The goal of the Dublin Climate Gathering will be to answer questions on how to bring about a low-carbon revolution using the internet as a key driver.

In the vein of open innovation, the event’s organisers believe change can happen when there is collaboration between civil society, business, government and academia.

While people have already signed up for the event, the organisers are seeking input from other thinkers from the worlds of science, technology, politics and culture for their perspectives.

Those who are interested in taking part in the Dublin Climate Gathering may email their ideas (200 words on what you would like to bring to the gathering and why you would like to be there) before 3 June.

The event will kick off on 17 June to complement the European Commission’s Digital Assembly that is taking place in Dublin in the same week.
