Foursquare in talks with Google, Yahoo and Microsoft

Geo-social networking player Foursquare is understood to be in talks with search giants Google, Yahoo and Microsoft about potential data partnerships that would boost user experience.

Foursquare, which now has 2 million users, is understood to be inspired by the deal Twitter signed last year with all three companies that saw Twitter’s real-time tweet stream become embedded in search results.

Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley’s previous start-up Dodgeball was bought by Google in 2005.

Foursquare recently completed a US$20m funding round that has boosted the company’s valuation to almost US$100m.
