Bluemedia, a new Bluetooth proximity marketing business, has been launched by two young Dubliners.

Dean McKillen (21) and Luke Keily (23) have developed a service to send out brand messages to mobile-phone users in nightclubs, shopping centres, festivals, colleges and restaurants.

They have already implemented Bluetooth campaigns for Nokia, MCD and Jervis Street Shopping Centre.

The Bluetooth business concept won the pair over as they travelled around Europe and the US researching and putting different Bluetooth products on trial. After witnessing what was available, they decided to develop their own technologically advanced software to distribute in Ireland.

“Bluemedia has its own unique software developed by our software team. The advantage is that we can update it to keep ahead of competitors and tailor the product for our clients,” said Keily.

“Bluemedia has successfully trialled a range of products that demonstrate Bluetooth’s effectiveness. From issuing stage times to festival goers at Oxegen, to allowing Nokia users at Electric Picnic upload their videos and pictures to a big screen, our specially designed Bluetooth product is proving a popular and effective way for brands to communicate to today’s mobile generation,” said McKillen.

Bluemedia has also just developed a new product for Jervis Street Shopping Centre, where files are sent out to allow shoppers browse store details, special offers, vouchers, maps and games.

Bluemedia’s business model is based around only sending out relevant and valuable content through its Bluetooth hotspots.

The content issued by Bluemedia ranges from video messages, music files, games, ringtones, wallpapers, texts, business cards, vouchers and coupons, calendar entries and a lot more. There is no transfer fee with Bluetooth, whether clients send 100 or 100,000 messages.
