Young entrepreneurs the focus for third Bizcamp Dublin

25 May 2010

Young entrepreneurs are the focus for the latest Bizcamp Dublin event, which is being held in the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin this Saturday.

Up to 500 entrepreneurs are set to gather for a day of networking and learning at the third Bizcamp Dublin.

Attendees will spend the day attending ‘lectures’ given by their peers on starting, managing and promoting a business.

The theme for this latest Bizcamp Dublin is ‘Young Entrepreneurs’ and it will feature a panel discussion of young Irish businesspeople. Panellists include 26-year-old Rob Ryan of www.ladyumbrella.com, 29-year-old John Matthew Hold of Waratek Ltd, 26-year-old Stephen O’Leary of www.olearyanalytics.ie and John O’Dea, manager of the start-up division of Enterprise Ireland.

Bizcamp Dublin, which is sponsored by Microsoft, Mason, Hayes + Curran, IBM, and Enterprise Ireland, is run voluntarily by a team of Irish entrepreneurs.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s event, one such organiser, Alan O’Rourke of Spoiltchild Design and Toddle.com said: “Saturday’s Bizcamp Dublin is shaping up to be another brilliant event. We already have hundreds registered to attend and share their business war stories but with a huge venue like the Guinness Storehouse, there’s room for plenty more!”

“This time around we want to give special recognition to young entrepreneurs” he added. “Our panel discussion will feature some of our successful young businesspeople and we’re hoping the discussion will encourage others to take the leap and go it alone.”
